Description
This all original, yellow rocket big wave gun was designed by Pat O'Neill and shaped by Santa Cruz legendary shaper Tom Overlin in 1975. The super narrow size of this board: 19 inches wide by 3.5 inches thick determine that it was not to be ridden by the faint of heart. Most likely this board was made for an expert big wave rider who would pull it from their quiver when the swell got large. Possibly made for use in Northern California (pre-Mavericks) or the North shore of Hawaii. This board is vivid yellow and loads of pizazz its' thickness, rocker, glassed in wooden fin, single 1/4 inch stringer and overall gumption make it a true Stand-out. Santa Cruz vintage boards are highly collectible and the rarity of an all original custom Pat O'Neill and Tom Overlin 1975 specimen make this an item for both serious surfboard collectors and designers as the color, the history, the condition and the shape of this board will make it an asset to any surf installation. Good original condition with a few vintage repairs that do not detract from the inherent beauty. Vibrant yellow deck, wood stringer. A wonderful board to ride or display!
Dimensions: 9 foot 5 inches (114 inches) high x 19 inches wide x 3.5 inches deep (without fin in place)
