Description
This Australian paddle board, The Skipper, was created by shipbuilders during the 1940s. We found this vintage paddleboard in a friends' collection while traveling in Australia and simply had to have it for our shop so we brought it home to California and are now offering it to you. We love the history: it was made by a ship building company who needed to keep the workers busy when business was slow so put them to work making wooden paddleboards. And, we love the aesthetic, worn creamy paint, golden aged wood, and the size - not too long (or heavy) to hang in a beach cottage or bungalow over a modestly sized sofa or on a dining room wall to balance a table. A designer's dream, ideal for decorating any coastal or surf-themed environment. Measures: 90 inches long x 15.5 inches wide x 3 inches thick with an 8 inch deep fin.
