William Dampier (1910 - 1985). Born in Spokane WA, Dampier spent most of his life in Los Angeles working from a studio atop Mt Washington. He was a pupil of Jack W. Smith and Ejnar Hansen. An impressionist, his work is characterized by brillant color and fine draftsmanship. His subjects include desert landscapes and still lifes. His works are in multiple respected collections.
