Description
This stunning board was shaped by Master shaper Robbie Dick in the Natural Progression factory in Topanga Canyon California. Lovingly known as "Canyon boards" examples are sought after by collectors for several reasons. Natural progression was a cult brand. They had a crack Surfing team. Their shapers were second to none and the NP shop was at that time the only Surf shop in Malibu, located just across from the pier. Robbie Dick was a member of the NP surf team along with Jay Riddle both outstanding wave riders. This Board: Big Wave gun shaped board, in clear with natural progression outline and Pro Gun logo is a serious board for a really accomplished surfer (possibly a team board). The board is finished in lemon, blue, pink and red competition stripes; the fin is glassed in and has an original "of the day" leash plug. There are a few repairs that were dealt with in the 1970s, they show originality and add to this board's pedigree. In short a time capsule of Surfing's Golden 1970s hey-day.
