Malibu: Part-Time Sales Associate / Key Holder

We’re seeking a Part-Time Sales Associate / Key Holder to join the crew at Surfing Cowboys, the iconic Malibu lifestyle shop known for vintage treasures, California cool, and our own line of apparel and home goods.

Who You Are

You have 3+ years of apparel sales experience, a genuine enthusiasm for vintage design, and live in Malibu or just minutes away. You're confident in your ability to connect with customers, merchandise with creativity, and support daily operations with ease. You bring strong administrative skills and a natural eye for style, and you thrive in a collaborative, customer-focused environment that can shift between calm and high energy. You know how to stay productive during slower moments and rise to the occasion during busy ones.

We create unforgettable shopping experiences by sharing the stories behind our pieces, engaging each visitor with warmth and personality, and keeping the shop running smoothly from open to close. With an ever-evolving inventory, there’s always something new to learn, do, and contribute to.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome and assist customers with warmth and knowledge
• Share product stories and styling suggestions
• Manage POS and assist with opening/closing procedures
• Support inventory, restocking, and visual displays
• Contribute to a positive, design-forward environment
• Take initiative with personalized customer outreach, shop tasks, and product knowledge

Requirements

• 3+ years of retail apparel sales
• Boutique or design-focused experience preferred
• Familiarity with Shopify is a plus
• Must live in Malibu or within a few minutes' drive
• Must have reliable transportation
• Available 2–4 days/week, weekend availability required
• Strong communication, admin, and styling abilities
• Self-starter with a passion for fashion and vintage sales
