Description

From the estate of our late friend Dave Mellin we bring you this beautiful Blue Cheer Surfboard. Cherry red with wooden stringers this board measures 9'5". It was shaped by "Coyote" a Brazilian who shaped for both Natural Progression and Blue Cheer (both Santa Monica companies) back in the 1970s. Coyote has spent his life between Santa Monica and Brazil. During a stint in Santa Monica he custom built this beauty of a surfboard for Dave.

Hang it on the wall or ride it - either way it's sure to brighten your day!!

During the 1970s Dave Mellin was a Blue Cheer Team Rider.

Blue Cheer was in operation from the late 1960s through the 1980s and was owned by Jay Stone. The Blue Cheer heyday was during the 1970s when there was almost a magical symbiotic fluidity between Blue Cheer, Natural Progression and Zephyr Surfboards. Skip Engbloom, Jeff Ho, Craig Stecyk et al moonlighted at Blue Cheer among stalwart shapers Mike Perry, Steve Kroll and Ralph Parker.
