Description

All Original Wardy Surfboard with Blue Stripes c. 1960
Two tone blue stripes accent the clear deck and rails.  5 multi-tone wood stringers offer strength to ride the bigger waves. The Cutback “D” Fin rounds out this “Beach Boy” era board.  It’s extremely rare to find a board like this in hardly used condition.  An outstanding collector piece to stand alone or include in a larger collection.  Condition 9.5 out of 10.

Wardy Surfboards: Fred Wardy started surfing at Malibu back in the 1950s.  John Severson, the famed Surfer Magazine and surf movie creator told Wardy that Pasadena was a real hub for surf culture so he opened a shop there. He later opened a shop in Laguna Beach.  Wardy always believed that Surfing was a sport and should be seen as such. It was an activity that was part of a life and not a lifestyle.
