Description
Some turquoise is cut and matched until every stone behaves. This necklace is better for refusing to.
The necklace follows the natural rhythm of irregular turquoise nuggets—blue, blue-green, veined, mottled, and shaped with enough individuality that no two stones read exactly alike. Darkened Navajo sterling silver beads punctuate the strand, with elongated silver beads near the hook closure adding another layer of proportion and handworked character.
The nuggets become larger and more substantial toward the center, giving the necklace real visual weight without making it formal or precious. At 20 inches, it sits beautifully at the collarbone and has enough presence to carry an outfit on its own. Wear it with a sun-faded T-shirt, an old denim or Western shirt, black cashmere, bare skin, or anything else that benefits from a little sky and silver.
It is also exceptionally well preserved. The turquoise retains its rich color, natural matrix, and varied surfaces, while the sterling has developed the darkened patina that gives old silver its depth. No over-polishing, no artificial shine—just a beautifully balanced strand that has reached the present with its character intact.
