Kansai Yamamoto Women's Sweater Grey/Blue/Red Japan 1980s

Description

A bold expression of avant-garde design from one of Japan’s most iconic fashion innovators, this vintage Kansai Yamamoto women’s sweater from the 1980s bursts with energy and originality. Rendered in grey, blue, red, black, and cream, the striking color-blocked pattern features a graphic, almost futuristic motif on the front with geometric shapes and large embroidered typography reading “185R: XEP2.” The back is equally dynamic with diagonal stripes and angular contrasts extending down the sleeve, creating visual motion across the garment.

Crafted in Japan from 100% wool, the sweater balances wearable structure with expressive design—typical of Yamamoto’s East-meets-West aesthetic that captivated the fashion world throughout the late 20th century. Rib-knit collar, hem, and cuffs complete the look with a snug, sporty edge.
