Jaime Oates, whose favorite subject matter was the Mariachis, captured their dynamic spirit in this colorful painting. Appointed headmaster and later director of the School of Fine Arts of Taxco, Oates made Taxco his home, transforming a colonial house into a haven for his artistic endeavors.
