David Nuuwiha Surfboard 1970s Vintage Yellow and Green with Red Accent

1970s David Nuuwiha vintage surfboard in excellent condition. Layered shades of yellows and light greens contrasted with red accents. Striking double eagle logos on deck and sizable eagle logo on bottom. Single fin fish tail and a piece of surf history to ride or display.

In 1966 David Nuuwiha won the Surfer Magazine readers poll, and was acknowledged as the best nose rider in the world. Bing Surfboards made his signature board which became the hottest selling board that year. He participated in the US Surfing Championships in 1968 and 1971 and was the poster child of the new look sponsored surfer; making endorcement deals upwards of $25,000 in 1967. Nuuhiwa was the first celebrity surfer, looking like a rock star, showing up in a Porsche or Rolls with girls galore and a traveling fan club. This original David Nuuwiha board has his style and verve and defines that era.
