Description
An oversized silver-plate presentation cigarette case with genuine old sporting-club character.
Presented to Mr. T. Smith by Fussells Sports Club in recognition of his service during the 1920 cricket season, this substantial century-old case has the weight, patina, and beautifully worn presence of an object that was carried and kept.
The front is richly engraved with foliate scrollwork surrounding an unmonogrammed shield-shaped cartouche. The reverse carries the original inscription:
