A few fun bits of Whee-lo knowledge:

• New York company Maggie Magnetic Inc. introduced the "Whee-lo The Magnetic Walking Wheel" in 1953.

• Promoted as a toy for contests, "sick rooms" and "back seats"

• The Whee-lo toy itself was sold with six colorful attachments for the retail price of .79 cents

• In his autobiography The Stringless Yo-Yo, Harvey Job Matusow claimed to have invented the Whee-lo to raise money to pay his legal fees incurred when he was charged with lying to Congress during the 1957 Anti-Communist McCarthy trials.
