This creatively made box of mixed wood species is circa 1890. The bottom part is constructed from organic hewn natural bark. The execution of the top exhibits the cabinet makers skills in precision woodworking and deftness in marquetry. The removable interior compartment is a perfect tight fit. Brass handles are original and solid. A really beautiful and unusual box suited to a variety of storage or display uses.
