We are so excited to be offering this original vintage pair of very comfortable, practical and beautiful folding lounge chairs by Japanese designer Takeshi Nii. When Nii created this highly functional and comfortable folding lounge chair in 1958 he credited his deep appreciation of and inspiration garnered from the simplicity and style of the classic directors chair and by the form and materials used in midcentury Danish design. The first of its kind to offer low This chair has won numerous awards and became a permanent feature in the MOMA collection in 1970. While still in production, the chair pair we are offering is an older edition, we believe from the 1970s. Like a finely broken in leather bag or pair of Levis, to our taste the patina and general signs of use add a sensibility that can't be matched with the new model.
