This Stars and Stripes Hanson Surfboard circa 1962 is a fully restored and re-pigmented surfboard. Patriotic, stylish and a celebration of freedom in the surf. This red, white and blue flag board makes you want to go out and vote! (or just surf). Expert art work by our friend Eilers. Artwork is based on the original US Navy flag (13 stars) this surfboard is a stand alone classic and will grace a prized collection. Red, white and blue stars and stripes on deck, bottom accented in bold, bright white. Dimensions: 115 inches long x 21.5 inches wide x 2 inches deep along rails and 9 inches deep at fin.

Don Hansen started his career shaping surfboards in California working for the legendary Jack O'Neill. In 1961 he moved to the North Shore of Hawaii in 1961 where he started shaping and selling his own, Hansen Surfboards, from a small shack. His presence rose in the Surf scene while in Hawaii as he finished 2nd place in the Makaha Surfing World Championships, was pictured on the cover of Surfing Magazine and was featured in the surf movie, "North Swell," produced by Grant Rolloff.  Upon his return to Southern California in 1962 he opened Hansen Surfboards, soon to become one of the largest producers and suppliers of surfboards in the world.
