Four glazed black and creamy white ceramic tiles with images of Stan Bitters silkscreened on the front. Stan made these "self portraits" for his 1979 Fresno Art Museum show. Tile measurements: Depth: .25". Width: 2.25". Height: 8.25". Stan Bitters career in ceramics has spanned six decades. In 1959 Stan Bitters went to work for Hans Sumpf, an adobe brick manufacturer in Madera, CA where he created architectural murals, tiles, bird houses, planters and sculptural objects. His large-scale installations can still be experienced in public spaces, banks, hotels, schools, churches, Industrial complexes, and private residences.
