Ordering from Surfing Cowboys

• Credit card orders are accepted on-line, by fax, by phone or in person at our store.
• We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express (AMEX) and in store Debit Cards.
• Money orders and Cashier's Checks are also accepted. • All orders originating outside the U.S.A. should be credit card orders or in U.S. funds.
• We DO NOT accept personal checks.


ORDERING OVER THE INTERNET: • Ordering over the internet is safe, easy, and totally secure. When you order from Surfing Cowboys over the internet, you connect with Yahoo Store's secure server which protects your credit card and personal information.
• Internet Explorer users should see the LOCK (secure) symbol when you check out.

• Shortly after placing your order on-line, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of the order you entered on-line.
• Please note: oversize shipping fees will NOT be shown on this confirmation as you will pay them directly to the shipper.
• Please note: there are occasions when the shipping fee needs to be adjusted slightly and you will not see the final shipping fee on your confirmation but you will see it on your final order.

ORDERING BY MAIL: • When you order by mail, please be sure to include all item #'s and the full item name and price, as well as your name address, phone and e-mail (if available). Please call us for a shipping quote prior to mailing your order. You may send payment by credit card or money order. • Please note: we do not accept personal checks.

ORDERING WITH A GIFT CERTIFICATE: • Online orders need to include credit card account information so that the order can be processed online.
• Your credit card will not be charged anything unless the purchase exceeds the value of the Gift Certificate.

• Our vintage and artisan handcrafted items are one of a kind, once sold they are no longer available.


Shipping Information

• United Parcel Service (UPS) and the US Postal Service (USPS) are our standard methods of shipment to all areas within the Continental U.S.
• Most orders ship out the next business day (M-F). • We will contact you by e-mail if we have any questions regarding your order, or if there will be a significant delay in processing your order.
• All shipments will be billed at the actual shipping cost plus packing as applicable.
• Shipments going to APO's, FPO's and P.O. Boxes will be shipped via the US Postal Service regardless of shipping option chosen.
• Oversize freight such as furniture or surfboards that need to go with a Freight/Shipping company.. we will obtain the shipping quote but have you pay the shipper directly for the shipping charges. We'd prefer it ourselves with no middleman... we expect you will too.


Shipping Methods / Options -- Domestic (USA)


We use UPS and the US Postal Service to ship to most addresses in the continental US. If you are unable to receive packages using either of these services please let us know when you place your order.


Express Shipping, Next Day and 2-Day Air packages


• On UPS Next Day and UPS 2nd Day Air shipments we make all efforts to ship the same day you order.
• Orders received after 10 am PT may not ship until the next Business Day.
• We will contact you if any additional delays are necessary.
• Large, bulky, or heavy items may incur additional Express (air) Shipping charges.
• Please be sure you have provided DAY TIME contact information.
• Our web site will post an average cost for Express Shipping. This cost will be adjusted up or down to the ACTUAL cost of shipping your package via UPS 2nd Day or Next Day Air. If these charges exceed the "average" by more than 10% you will be contacted via e-mail and/or phone to approve the shipping charges. Please be sure you have provided DAY TIME contact information. If we cannot reach you the shipping of your package may be delayed.

International Shipping Options

• We ship to all US addresses, including military addresses (APO, FPO) and US Territories, as well as all Canadian addresses.
• We ship to international destinations on our list of “approved countries”. All customers pay the exact cost of shipping plus packing as necessary.
• NOTE: When ordering on-line our website applies a shipping cost for the shipping method you choose. We will adjust the cost before your credit card is charged.
• Please feel free to contact us for a shipping estimate.
• We ship small packages via UPS and USPS Airmail. We use Plycon Vanlines for oversize furniture , EDI for surf boards and various international carriers depending upon the country being shipped to.
• OUTSIDE THE US48. You pay the exact cost of shipping your Air Package. Since exact cost cannot be determined until your order is ready for shipment and shipping cost varies greatly by destination and weight, the charges shown in the table below and on your invoice represent the "Average Cost" of shipping a sample package using the service you select. Your credit card will be charged exact cost of shipping your order. If your cost exceeds the "average" by more than 15% you will be contacted via e-mail to approve the shipping charges. International customers are responsible for all customs fees, tariffs and taxes at delivery.


Pick-Up You are welcome to visit us at our store to pick-up your purchases. We are located at 1624 Abbot Kinney Blvd Venice CA 90291. Our hours are Mon-Sun 11-7.

Our Approach to Shipping

All these items were hand-picked by us, we love them as much as you do, we make every effort to get them to you safely.

Small items: Anything that can be safely sent USPS (United States Postal Service) is. We find priority mail to be the most economical way to ship and insure most small items ie: apparel and anything we can pack easily in house.

Small and Mid-size Fragile: These items are hand delivered by us to our local pack and ship wonder boys a few blocks away. They are expert at packing anything from vases and lamps to fragile sculpture and we let them. Their price for packing is very reasonable and the item arrives safely. they usually ship UPS or Fed Ex depending on the item requirements and best price.

Art in frames: After much trial and error we've found that the best place to have a piece of art packaged for shipping is at an art framer. Our friends and neighbors at Universal Art Gallery are the best framers in the neighborhood, LA Mag says they're the best framers in LA, and as they produce most of our frames we decided we should also let them package them. Yes, they will insist we change out anything with glass for plexi-glass first... so figure that in if it's needed. Their packing is reasonable and absolutely passes the test... they even packed the glass backboard for a pinball machine for us once.... with supreme results.

Surfboards: As we are located in Venice Beach CA we are fortunate to have some excellent longtime surfboard manufacturers right in our neighborhood. These folks know how to pack a surfboard better then anyone we know. They use heavy grade cardboard, thick foam, extra cushioning and double box as needed. Even the international exporters ask us to have the surfboards boxed prior to their picking them up so if you''re purchasing a surfboard and it needs shipping choose the packing option on the order page and an additional fee $50-75., depending on size, will be automatically added to your order. The shipping fee, approximately $250 within the Continental US will be accessed and payment arrangements will be made after ordering.

Furniture: There's a broad range of particulars when shipping furniture and we've dealt with them all.

There are some pieces that can be "blanket wrapped" which means that before the item leaves our showroom floor the shipper wraps the item in heavy quilted, clean, movers blankets and puts a material like thick saran wrap around the blankets to hold them in place. This offers enough protection to safely transport most pieces.

In some cases there are extra precautions we choose to take such as boxing any extra small movable pieces, bagging pillows or securing the tambor door of a credenza, prior to the shipper arriving... anything extra precaution we deem necessary is taken to assure safe arrival of your item.

We often use Plycon Vanlines to ship the basic blanket wrapped furniture or large bulky items within the continental US. So far they've done a very good job for us. The more you ship in one load to one address the better the value and the quote includes a two man carry in, but please let us know if you have aot of stairs to climb as that will be extra.

Delicate Antiques:These often require very special packing and handling. We will be happy to discuss any specific item's shipping requirements and if we feel that your chosen purchased item requires any special handling we will be sure to let you know.

Crating Required on most items that are shipped internationally and occasionally for heavy or fragile items delivered domestically. We have craters as do our exporters. Some countries require that wood items be fumagated and crated in pressure treated wood. Our exporters will assist you in this matter.



Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies:

Due to the unique nature of Surfing Cowboys Merchandise all sales, excluding new clothing items are final. In the case of new clothing, within 10 days we will exchange the unused garment for the same garment in a different size. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions you might have BEFORE you place your order.

If you don't love it don't buy it.

Reporting Damaged Goods or Lost Shipments


• DAMAGED shipments and/or packages which appear to be damaged should be refused at the time of delivery.
