Fox Surfboard by John Parton, Original Condition, 1970
Vibrant orange fades to bright sun-kissed yellow on this energetic 1970s fox surfboard, masterfully shaped in the "Sunshine State" by John Parton. Decorating with this beauty of a surfboard is like hanging a 6 foot 7 inch slice of the sun inside. Fox was established by Ted James as one of the first combined surf shop, surfboard manufacturers in South Florida. Shaper John Parton, joined the business in 1972 after cultivating his craft while growing up in Hawaii (his father was stationed on Oahu) and a stint shaping and surfing in California. Parton became a partner in the business and later it took over after Ted James' passing. Fox Surfboards is still going strong with Parton at the helm; he continues to be recognized and respected for his surfboard shapes and contribution to East coast surfing. This board is a stand out made before the days of surfboard blank shaping machines. With the energy and verve of a maker/rider who knows the waves crafted into its very core; it is inspiring to look at and most probably even better to ride. Includes removable fin.
