Description

It's rare to find a 1970's skateboard deck by such an important maker in virgin condition, not yet drilled for wheels, and never used. This Sims Pure Juice skateboard deck features a block kick-tail (a technique used prior to the introduction of molded plywood to the skateboard industry) and Sims Pure Juice graphics on the bottom. Sims Skateboards was founded in 1976 by Tom Sims a skateboard pioneer and world champion skateboarder (1975) who, in high school, created the "ski-board" by combining his two favorite sports of that time, skiing and skateboarding. A perpetual innovator, in 1975, Sims introduced the world's first longboard skateboard. The snowboard world champion of 1983 he was the founder of the extremely successful Sims Snowboard Company. As an aside, he was the stunt man in the Snowboard scenes for Roger Moore's James Bond in "A View to A Kill" - the film that introduced snowboarding to the world. This deck has as a few scrapes and dings consistent with age (see photos) Length=30" Width=6.5"
