Description

Made in Santa Monica California this fully restored, 9 foot 3 inch, Con Surfboard is simply stunning. Brilliant red is accented with wide creamy white horizontal stripes, a deep ebony diagonal stripe anchoring the classic Con logo and a super rare translucent original fixed fin that features the Con logo.  The double redwood stringer adds both beauty and strength.

This board measures 112" Long (9'3") and 21" wide, with 2.5 thick rails - it's  it's 11" deep at the fixed fin.

Constantine "Con" Colburn started surfing in 1956 at the age of 22. A very savvy young businessman, Con quickly recognized the growth potential of the surf industry and opened his first shop in Santa Monica, California two years later.  By 1959, Con had changed the name of his ding repair business from the Surf House to to Con Surfboards and expanded to sell boards in three retail locations.

Of interest to those of us in on the West Side of Los Angeles, Con's Santa Monica shop proved to be the longest running, consistently open surf company in Santa Monica. Open from 1959 and closing in the early 2000s.
