This all original, 1970s, 7' 3" surfboard is a rare specimen. Quality execution, an eye for design, technology and a desire for 1970s short board performance were combined with the rarity of balsa wood pigmented fiberglass in the making of this one-of-a-kind board. The result is a board that captures a moment in 1970s surf history design while paying a nod to surf's balsa wood heritage. In the 1970s Balsa wood had not been used for surfboard manufacture for a good 20 years, it was heavier more expensive and not as durable as the state of the art "foam boards". It was however undeniable beautiful. This board was handcrafted to have the best of both worlds, beauty and functionality. We suspect this board was never ridden, or if so it saw very light use. The hard down rails, thick body, reverse v and swallow tale tell us it was made by a master craftsman in the early 1970s. It was designed for charging big waves.
Condition: Excellent. Couple of compression dings and small imperfection on tail of board..
Dimentions: 7 ft. 3 in.H x 20 in.W x 3.5 in.D
