1960s Greg Noll Belly Board, Paipo, Signed, All Original

$3,750.00
Item Number:
5221

This paipo is a fantastic rare model - all original, made in the 1960s, deep red, single 1/4" stringer, clear logo, long raking glassed-in wooden fin, pressure dings and a couple of un-repaired edge dinged areas, hand signed by Da Bull himself. Greg told us that he hated making paipo boards, yes - boards like this one, which is why they are thin on the ground and therefore rare and therefore desirable.

If you have ever been in a room with Greg Noll (Da Bull) you will recognize that it's not only his physical size but the aura of the guy that sets him apart. He has been there and done that, things that mere mortals wouldn't and couldn't. Recognized as the first to ride Banzai Pipeline, acknowledged as the rider of the biggest wave ever at Waimea bay, member of the lifeguard team that took paddleboards to Australia in 1956 and taught the locals. Captain of his own ship (literally) becoming a successful commercial fisherman, add that to his own brand of surfboards, his surf-craft shaping abilities and lifesaving prowess, the fact he was the only one capable of wrestling Miki Dora into a Greg Noll signature model surfboard (Da Cat) and oh yes. The funniest person in the surf world.
