Description

Made in Los Angeles in 1935, this original surfboard has a plaque on the tail that gives time, place, and providence of this true collectors piece.  Made of solid wood strips, masterfully held together by dowels and a varity of woods this board features arrows in a darker stain running the length of the deck and the bottom.  The nose is rounded with an attached metal nose block.

The board has a keel shape. Flat deck with rounded rails and bottom.  The tail is flat with plaque proudly affixed. The brass plaque states that the board was "Built by Rob T.E. Bostwick 10 LPR 3 (Phone #) 5.35 (Date) 245 North Union Ave L.A. (Address)"  The few minor wood losses show clearly how the board was constructed.

Boards like this rarely come to market, they are rare and beautiful relics of surf history. It is remarkable to find a board that was made and ridden by the same person. This one is truly outstanding and would grace the quiver of the most discerning collector.
