It is in excellent original condition. The 1928 Olympic Tryouts were held at the Beach Club with an exhibition swimming race between Duke Kahanamoku and Olympic Record Holder Johnny Weissmuller, with Weissmuller winning. Olympic Tryouts resulted in the formation of the San Clemente swimming team. The pool is still used today.
